I chose to work at CMU because I like western Colorado. There is probably not a better place in the country that has more access to outdoor recreation opportunities. Grand Junction has a ‘work to live’ and not ‘live to work’ culture. Grand Junction is also big enough that you have everything you need but it’s small enough that you don't deal with traffic and other city difficulties. The university is much like the town, large enough to have all the amenities of a large university but small enough that you know everyone and can walk across campus.
